Quality Assurance Manager


Quality Assurance Managers are dedicated to the highest quality and safety standards in the work environment. Someone with this title may be responsible for formulating and administering quality procedures that ensure product safety, inspecting products to ensure that they remain up to code, and monitoring the manufacturing process to ensure that all compliance requirements are being met. Additionally, Quality Assurance Managers working in the food industry must be familiar with guidelines put into effect by government regulatory agencies, including the FDA and USDA.

The Quality Assurance Manager is typically responsible for the creation of safety and quality guidelines that all company employees follow. If the Quality Assurance Manager sees any discrepancies in the quality of products during the process, it’s the Quality Assurance Manager’s responsibility to adjust quality procedures accordingly. Candidates for this position may be required to hold a bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: microbiology, food science, or chemistry. Additionally, previous career experience related to quality assurance is likely required as are SQF and GFSI certifications.
